About Bendigedig "Fabulous" Short Stays

As a mum of three, I know just how precious a moment of peace can be. Life isn’t always straightforward, and sometimes what people need most is simply a calm, comfortable place to land. That’s exactly why, from our home in the beautiful Forest of Dean on the Welsh border, I created Bendigedig Short Stays.

“Bendigedig” means lovely or fabulous in Welsh — a little nod to my roots in Pontypridd and the childhood holidays in the Gower that shaped my love for peaceful, restorative escapes.

What started as a way to help people switch off has grown into something truly special. Today, we offer 10 unique properties, from the stunning Mumbles coastline to the heart of Hereford. Whether it’s a solo retreat, a family break, or time away with loved ones, there’s a space designed to feel just right.

But for many of our guests, it’s about more than a holiday.

We welcome people staying for all sorts of reasons — some joyful, some challenging. Guests relocating for work, families needing somewhere to stay during insurance repairs, people navigating divorce or big life changes, or simply those needing a breather when life feels overwhelming. Whatever brings you to us, we understand that sometimes you just need a place that feels safe, calm, and yours for a while.

That’s why we focus on creating homes that feel like a warm cup of tea when you need it most — comforting, familiar, and quietly supportive.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting incredible people. Many return time and time again — including a lovely Australian family who visit every year, and guests who’ve found real comfort with us during difficult periods in their lives. Those connections mean everything.

For me, this isn’t just about accommodation. It’s about people.

We pride ourselves on the personal relationships we build — with our property owners and with every guest who stays with us. That care, that understanding, and that human touch is what truly sets Bendigedig apart.
